Quarry Manager - Dalhousie Quarry, Dalkeith, EH19 3HZ

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quarry Manager who will be based at our Dalhousie Sand and Gravel Quarry based in Dalkeith. Reporting to the area manager the successful candidate will hold full QR99 Reg 8.1c responsibilities.

The successful candidate should have previous practical experience in all aspects of sand and gravel quarrying operations from extraction to restoration.

The role will suit a self-motivated individual with the ability to manage staff and demonstrate an understanding of engineering and legislation.

You will be customer focused, ensuring service and quality standards are met and maintained whilst performance is maximised. You will be a team player and be committed to delivering our company values.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience managing and leading teams.
  • Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
  • Completed, or be working towards, a SHE NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of Quarry Regulations 1999 and ACOP.
  • A good understanding of plant and machinery, including maintenance planning.

Office/Weighbridge Administrator - Maternity Cover - Tulliallan Head Office FK10 4DT

We are currently recruiting for an Office/Weighbridge Administrator based at our Tulliallan Office on a fixed term basis to cover a period of materniy leave.

The successful candidate will be customer focused, reliable, well organised and be able to work well a part of a team in a busy office environment.

Hours - 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday - Flexibility around these hours may be required in line with the needs of the business.

Key Duties Include:

  • Operating the weighbridge, matching and filing weighbridge tickets.
  • Dealing with general customer enquiries, i.e. orders, pricing, deliveries.
  • Assist with scheduling in line with customer delivery requirements.
  • Liaise with other sites regarding customer requirements.
  • General office administration, filing, data input, checking emails.

As our Office/Weighbridge Administrator, it is essential that you have:

  • Experience working in an administration role.
  • Polite and professional and courteous approach to dealing with customers.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent organisational, time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent IT Skills, Word, Excel, Outlook.

Experience working in a similar role within the construction industry would be advantageous but is not essential.

Asphalt Site/Mechanical Fitter - Tulliallan Asphalt Plant, FK10 4DT and Central Scotland

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Asphalt Plant/Mechanical Fitter at our Tulliallan Site in Kincardine and other sites as required.

You will carry out planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance activities and repairs on our Asphalt, Concrete & Washing plants.

Who we are looking for

·         Experience working in a heavy industry environment.

·         A willingness to work under pressure in a challenging, fast paced environment

·         A flexible approach to working hours including shift work and willingness to work regular overtime to meet the needs of the business where and when required.

·         Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering quality standards to our customers.

·         Full driving license.

·         SVQ Level 3 in Construction Plant Maintenance is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

·         Previous mechanical experience is required.

Quarry Operative - Tams Loup, Harthill, ML7 5TN

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quarry Operatives at our Hard Rock Quarry in Harthill.

This opportunity attracts a competitive rate of pay which includes enhanced rates for overtime and 10 day’s holiday over the Christmas period as well as excellent training and career progression opportunities.

Key Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the site at all times.
  • Mobile Plant Operations
  • General housekeeping duties.
  • All other duties as assigned.
