Quarry Labourer - KA13 7QN West Stevenson

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quarry Labourer at our Garnock West Sand Quarry.

Key duties will include:

  • Ensuring the efficient running and housekeeping of the sand plant - conveyors, hoppers, chutes and screens.
  • General housekeeping of the site, site office and containers.
  • Weighbridge duties when required.
  • Assisting with maintenance of the haul roads.
  • Mobile plant operations
  • All other duties as required.

Who we are looking for:

It is essential that successful candidate has:

  • A keen interest and commitment to Health and Safety and Environmental matters.
  • Wheel Loading Shovel and Excavator experience (not essential)
  • A willingness to work under pressure in a challenging, fast paced environment.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and willingness to work regular overtime to meet the needs of the business when required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually when required
  •  Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering quality standards to our customers.
  • Full driving license.

Quarry Manager - Hillend Quarry ML6 8NY

Tillicoultry Quarries Ltd is a successful family owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry throughout Central Scotland.

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the business for a Quarry Manager who will be based at our new Hillend Quarry in Caldercruix, North Lanarkshire.  This position will report directly to the Quarries Production Manager and is a key role within our business.

The successful candidate will hold full QR99 Reg 8.1c responsibilities and should have previous practical experience in all aspects of quarrying from extraction to restoration. Hillend quarry is a new hard rock development and the successful candidate shall be responsible for all the infrastructure set up, liaising with key stakeholders, regulatory bodies and sub-contractors to ensure the unit comes on line within the desired timescales in 2019.

The safety of our team and customers is our highest priority it is therefore essential that the successful candidate has a commitment to ensuring best practice and compliance to Health, Safety and Environmental legislation

The role will suit a self-motivated individual with the ability to manage and organise people and demonstrate an understanding of engineering and legislation.

You will be customer focused, ensuring service and quality standards are met and maintained whilst performance is maximised. You will be a team player and be committed to delivering our company values.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

·         At least 3 years’ experience managing and leading teams.

·         Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.

·         Completed, or be working towards, a SHE NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.

·         Excellent understanding of Quarry Regulations 1999 and ACOP.

·         A strong understanding of processing plant and equipment, including maintenance planning.

Deputy Quarry Manager - Northfield Quarry FK6 6RB

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the business for a Deputy Quarry Manager at our Northfield Hard Rock Quarry based in Denny.  This position will report directly to the Quarry Manager and is a key role within our business.

The successful candidate will hold QR99 Reg 8.1d responsibilities and should have previous practical experience in all aspects of quarrying from extraction to restoration deputising for the Quarry manager in his absence. Northfield Quarry is a high output hard rock quarry, with two asphalt plants and a ready-mix plant on site.
